The 35-kV switchgear of the Mainzer Straße (UW 11), Rathaus (UW 12), and Hauptbahnhof (UW 13) substations is an essential component of Saarbahn Netz GmbH's 750-V-DC railway power supply and ensures the energy supply of the overhead contact line network. The substations constructed in 1995 include, among other things, 35-kV and DC switchgear as well as the associated control, protection, and power supply technology. Due to the discontinuation of the protection and control technology components used and the spare parts that are no longer available, retrofit measures on the 35-kV switchgear are required to ensure long-term security of supply.
