Maintenance work on rail vehicles requires, under certain conditions, moving the rail vehicles independently of their own propulsion (e.g., because the traction characteristics are not suitable for the maintenance application or self-propulsion is technically not possible). This includes both towing and pushing the rail vehicles in connection with processing by an underfloor wheelset lathe (URD). The URD will be installed in a separate hall and is located in the southwestern workshop area.
