Opportunity description

The subject matter of the contract is the award of the exclusive right to operate and exploit public regular urban and interurban road passenger transport services by bus in the Region of the Ionian Islands through a concession contract for public passenger transport services pursuant to Regulation 1370/2007. Specifically, the subject matter of the contract is divided into two (2) Lots as follows: LOT 1: “Concession of the exclusive right to exploit public regular interurban passenger transport services by bus in the Region of the Ionian Islands”, with an estimated value of €169,500,000.00 excluding VAT [i.e., €16,950,000 annually, for ten (10) years] and LOT 2: “Concession of the exclusive right to exploit public regular urban passenger transport services by bus in the Region of the Ionian Islands”, with an estimated value of €52,500,000.00 excluding VAT [i.e., €5,250,000 annually, for ten (10) years] The total estimated value of the contract amounts to €222,000,000.00 excluding 13% VAT (estimated value including VAT: €250,860,000.00). Including the option, if exercised under the terms and conditions of paragraph 4 of Article 4 of Regulation (EC) 1370/2007, the estimated value of the contract may amount to €333,000,000.00 excluding 13% VAT (estimated value including VAT: €376,290,000.00). The duration of the contract is set at ten (10) years for each Lot, from the date on which the transport service begins to be provided, as will be specified in the contract, in accordance with paragraph 6.2 of this Tender Notice. The duration of the contract may be extended, at the discretion of the contracting entity, for up to five (5) additional years exclusively under the terms and conditions of paragraph 4 of Article 4 of Regulation (EC) 1370/2007 and in accordance with European Commission Notices 2014/C 92/01 and 2023/C 222/01 concerning interpretative guidelines for Regulation (EC) 1370/2007.
