Opportunity description

The Contracting Authority is looking for 1 Contractor with whom to conclude an Agreement relating to the Contract “Koningswei in Tilburg, participation in the Construction Team and possibly subsequent implementation including 2-year maintenance” for the Spatial Planning and Spatial Implementation departments of the municipality of Tilburg. The Koningswei project concerns the redevelopment of Koningsplein in the centre of Tilburg. The existing predominantly paved square will be transformed into a green recreational park — an intensive green roof / roof garden on the deck of the existing Koningsplein parking garage. The Contract comprises two phases that are being procured jointly: Phase 1 - Construction Team Phase (Services) and Phase 2 - Implementation and Maintenance Phase (Works). The core of the assignment lies in the intensive green roof / roof garden: construction of a park on the deck of the existing parking garage, featuring trees (in tree bunkers) that have required a preparatory process, shrubs, perennials, a water retention and infiltration system, a buffer tank for irrigation, permanent and temporary paving, a play area, rainwater drainage, and modification and retention of the existing pergola. The structural possibilities and watertightness of the existing parking deck constitute a strict design constraint. During the construction team phase, the Contractor is expressly expected to provide added value in terms of execution regarding constructability, phasing, cost control and stakeholder management in a highly urban context. The Contractor will also act as the health and safety coordinator for the design phase and has a coordination obligation with regard to the entire Construction Team, the tree supplier(s) and secondary contractors for public lighting.
