The Province of Fryslân has the verges and ditches along the provincial roads mowed annually. The purpose of this maintenance is to ensure, among other things, road safety, proper drainage, etc. Various aspects are taken into account, including flora and fauna, ecological mowing management, sustainability, and the experience of road users, local residents, and adjacent landowners. The work is outsourced to market parties through RAW specifications. The contract is divided into 2 lots (Lot 1 Northern Cluster and Lot 2 Southern Cluster) and consists mainly of mowing verges and maintaining waterways along provincial roads. - Mowing verges, slopes, and banks along waterways; - Mowing dry slopes of waterways; - Clearing vegetation from waterways; - Mowing roundabouts, picnic areas, etc.; - Removing weeds from paved surfaces; - Removing invasive alien species; - Removing resulting grass clippings; - Removing released ditch cuttings; - Implementing traffic measures along provincial roads; - Other ancillary work.
