The Building Team (permitting and supervision) within the Utrecht Environmental Service faces quite a few challenges. We are tackling these with great determination, with the team being responsible for many complex tasks. However, the team lacks the experience to complete the many and often complex tasks properly, structurally, and within the stipulated deadlines. The department's urgent tasks mainly concern the backlog in the work queue, ownership, and accessibility. Thus, these are partly substantive issues, but also largely involve behavioral change. Coaching and (direct) management through coordination are very important in this regard. We are looking for someone with experience in the aforementioned tasks who can support the coordinator. This involves meeting the targets and, through appropriate support, coaching the coordinator to be able to work independently at the required level. Specifically, in this role you are responsible for: • Supporting/guiding the coordinator • Acting as a discussion partner for other building staff on complex aspects • If sufficient capacity is available, also carrying out and checking supervision and enforcement of construction work under complex permits that have been granted In addition, part of the work will consist of supporting and training the team. By the end of the contract, they must be able to perform the tasks independently and on a professional basis. Procedure: restricted. Estimated value: 69,920 EUR.
