The subject matter of the contract consists of supplying the products/furnishings/equipment indicated in the technical specifications, namely the supply of: - Lot No. 1: TIMS (Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer): solid-source mass spectrometer: it will be dedicated to applications in which isotopic measurements require the highest analytical precision. These include measurements of classical radiogenic isotopes in sediments, minerals and rocks (87Sr/86Sr, 143Nd/144Nd, 206Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb, 208Pb/204Pb), as well as new innovative applications such as measurements of light isotopes of general geochemical interest (6Li/7Li, 9B/10B) and in climate change issues (42Ca/44Ca). Short-lived isotopes (210Pb, 90Sr) relevant to radioactive pollution issues and geochronology on a scale of tens of years will also be measured using TIMS. - Lot No. 2: HR-ICP-MS (High Resolution Single Collector Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer): the high-resolution, next-generation ICP-MS opens up the opportunity to measure non-traditional isotopes in a wide variety of materials, from rocks and minerals to plants and animals, artifacts of archaeological importance, etc. In addition, with the aid of the high-power laser and the spectrometer, U-Pb and Th-Pb geochronological measurements will be performed on zircons and other minerals (magmatic or detrital).
