The proposed modernization works are expected to increase traffic capacity by improving traffic flow, reducing the cost of transporting goods and passengers, reducing travel time, increasing traffic safety, reducing the number of accidents, raising the standard of living and the comfort of road users, and saving energy and time, thus resulting in a series of economic advantages, such as expanding trade and productive investment, increasing the competitiveness of economic operators and the efficiency of economic activities, and increasing workforce mobility. The following criteria were taken into account when establishing the grade line: - gradients as low as possible over lengths as great as possible; - compliance with the minimum thickness of the designed road structure along the road centerline and at the edge of the carriageway; - provision of geometric elements in the longitudinal profile corresponding to a base speed of 30-60 km/h; - following the existing gradients as closely as possible, where feasible, or the elevations of existing accesses to facilitate access to properties; - compliance with mandatory elevation points: connections with other transport routes; The vertical curves were designed for values of m ≥ 0.5.
