The procurement of salt for snow removal will ensure better traffic flow on county roads during the cold season and will also reduce the risk of accidents caused by snowfall, freezing, and black ice. The contracting authority wishes to purchase a minimum of 500 tonnes and a maximum of 3333 tonnes of salt for snow removal. Tenderers are required to offer exclusively ROCK SALT originating from the operation of a salt mine, the salt being intended for snow-removal activities; offers of ordinary salt produced through other technological processes, such as sea salt or salt obtained through the artificial evaporation of brine, are not permitted. The origin of the salt shall be proven by documents issued by the producer or other supporting documents submitted together with the technical offer, in accordance with the requirements of the specifications. Failure to comply with this requirement or inability to prove the origin of the product shall result in the offer being found non-compliant, since the product does not meet the mandatory minimum requirements of the specifications.
