Opportunity description

- Rehabilitation and modernization of the urban infrastructure along the Cuejdiu River (Section 2 – Lot 1, between Dacia Blvd. and Orhei St.) by creating 8516 sq m of public open spaces; Creation and expansion of urban green spaces and outdoor relaxation and recreation areas by creating 2386 sq m of green spaces. Development of a multifunctional public space for outdoor cultural and recreational activities and Increasing tourist attractiveness (50,000 visitors/year); Pursuant to Art. 160 para. At the same time, the project contributes to improving the quality of the urban environment, harnessing the natural potential of the Cuejdiu River, and increasing the quality of life of the residents of the municipality of Piatra-Neamț. General objective Increasing the quality of life and urban attractiveness of the municipality of Piatra Neamț through the regeneration of the Cuejdiu River area – Section 2 Lot 1, in order to create a green corridor for promenading, culture, and recreation, accessible to all categories of citizens and visitors. The project contributes to achieving the specific objective of the North-East Regional Programme 2021–2027 – RSO 5.1 “Promoting integrated and inclusive development in the social, economic and environmental fields, as well as culture, natural heritage, sustainable tourism and security in urban areas,” by transforming an underused area into an attractive, safe, green, and multifunctional public space. Implementation of the project will generate modern, sustainable, and integrated urban infrastructure that stimulates non-motorized mobility, promotes health and social inclusion, and contributes indirectly to local economic development.
