Slovakia – Internet services – Supply of a solution for WiFi networks in vehicles to improve internet network accessibility for passengers

Opportunity description

The subject matter of the contract is the supply and installation of internal wireless WiFi network equipment, the provision of warranty service, operational services for the WiFi equipment, and post-warranty service in railway carriages that have not previously been equipped with WiFi technology. In addition, as part of the supply, technology that is currently obsolete and does not meet today’s requirements will be replaced. The reason for the introduction is ZSSK’s effort to address the situation regarding internet access for the travelling public. Passengers on the train must be provided with internet access via WiFi technology in trainsets. Internet access will be free of charge. The technology must make it possible to control internet content by blocking websites with dangerous content or the downloading of large volumes of data. Logging in must also include acceptance of the terms of use of the internet connection in ZSSK trainsets. When logging in, the passenger will confirm consent to the provision of the service on a special page of the onboard portal. They will then be redirected to the main page, where there will be links to various information about the train, the timetable, and the like. The subject matter of the supply also includes supplying the WiFi network equipment and transferring to the contracting entity ownership rights to this equipment as well as to the complete documentation constituting the architecture of the work (technical documentation), to the extent and under the conditions defined by the contracting entity, and ensuring the construction of the WiFi infrastructure by installing this equipment in selected railway carriages in accordance with the contracting entity’s requirements and the drawing documentation for these carriages, including cabling, installation, configuration, testing, and delivery of the drawing documentation.
