The Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich (PUK) is planning a new building on the Rheinau site to expand the inpatient treatment places of the Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry. The new building comprises facilities at the «medium security» security level with a total of 39 beds, as well as rooms for work pedagogy and specialized therapies. The subject of the contract is the construction of a two-story new building with a basement, with a floor area of around 10’000 m², within the existing clinic site. The work will be carried out under a general contractor model (GU) on the basis of the project planning provided by the contracting authority. The new building is intended for the inpatient treatment of forensic patients and is to be constructed as a healthcare building in the context of the penal system, with increased requirements for security, functionality and operation.
