Switzerland – Construction work for highways, roads – KEZO Lot VA 02b Road Construction and Utility Lines

The contracting authority, the Zürcher Oberland Waste Utilization Association (KEZO), was founded in 1961 and comprises 36 political municipalities in the Zürcher Oberland and on Lake Zurich. It operates a waste incineration plant (KVA) in Hinwil for the thermal recovery of municipal waste from around 365'000 households as well as from industry and commerce. Due to the planned construction of a new weighing facility, both the road and traffic routing and the utility lines on the KEZO site must be adapted accordingly. The construction services put out to tender here include, among other things: • Removal of pavements, walls and edging • Trench excavation for utility lines, construction and modifications of utility line systems • Construction and modification of the drainage systems for the new traffic areas • Earthworks and excavation for the installation of the scales • Paving works for new traffic areas and traffic areas to be modified The work will take place on the KEZO factory premises. The waste incineration plant (KVA) located on the site and the ZAV Recycling plant (ZAVRe) will remain in operation throughout the entire construction period. Plant operations must not be obstructed/adversely affected by the construction work. The truck routes for waste deliveries and residual material collection must be ensured throughout the entire construction period. The work will therefore be carried out in stages and during ongoing operations and traffic. Furthermore, the services put out to tender here must be coordinated with the work of subcontractors.
